Fratres by Arvo Pärt opens the evening in stillness. Pēteris Vasks presents Veni Creator Spiritus, his new creation written on commission for the Antwerp Spring Festival. With themes such as hope, vulnerability, and transcendence, silence is just as important as sound.

The final chord comes from Giovanni Battista Pergolesi. His Stabat Mater, written on his deathbed, unites heavenly beauty with human pain. The Flemish Radio Choir and Casco Phil, conducted by Benjamin Haemhouts, perform this masterpiece together with mezzo-soprano Marie-Juliette Ghazarian and soprano Camila Mandillo, both soloists affiliated with the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel.
